Arsenal win at Anfield to go clear at the top of the Premier League

Arsenal made their game in hand count and are now alone at the top of the 2026/27 Premier League. On Sunday, 1 November, the London side won 1-0 against Liverpool at Anfield, with German forward Kai Havertz getting the goal.

A week that reshaped the top

A few days ago, Arsenal and Manchester City were level on 21 points. On Saturday, City lost at home to Brighton and stood still. Arsenal took their chance: the win at Anfield lifts them to 24 points, a three-point lead over City with the same number of games played.

Liverpool lose ground

For Liverpool, a home defeat is a significant setback. They stay on 15 points in 5th place, now nine points behind the leaders. With every team near the top on nine games, the table is now easy to read: no more games in hand muddying the picture.

What comes next

It is still early, with 29 rounds to go, but Arsenal showed real maturity by winning at one of the toughest grounds in England. Manchester City need to respond quickly to keep pace, while Brighton, with the league's best goal difference, remain just five points off the top.
